Ayushmann Khurrana, who is Unicef's celebrity advocate for their global campaign EVAC (Ending Violence Against Children), has spoken about the practice of child labour as a total violation of child rights, on the occasion of World Day Against Child Labour on Saturday,
"Child labour robs children of their childhood and is a complete violation of their rights. Covid-19 has made children, especially girls and migrant children, more vulnerable, exposing them to greater risks. Closure of schools, increased violence at home, death of parents, and job loss within families is driving children to child labour," Ayushmann said.
"Join hands to prevent this from happening. Advocate for social protection schemes for the poorest families. Highlight that all children should safely go back to schools when they re-open. Dial ChildLine 1098 if you see any child in distress," he appealed to all.
Evelyn Sharma met the love of her life Tushaan Bhindi on a blind date set up by their common friend Elli AvrRam.
Evelyn and Tushaan in fact lived just a street apart in Bandra for several years, but never really got to know each other. In late 2018 Tushaan completed his work assignments in Mumbai and was ready to relocate in Australia. That was when Elli insisted he go on a blind date with her best friend Evelyn, before he left India.
"I never believed in love at first sight until I met Tushaan. We knew that night that we would want to spend our life together," says Evelyn.
She made the decision to leave behind her original home Germany and India at the start of the pandemic in March 2020 for life with Tushaan in Australia.
"It's been a big adjustment to move to a whole new country without being able to see your family and friends, but it is all worth it for a life with my soulmate," Evelyn added.
Commenting on their secret wedding, Elli said: "Since I know both Evelyn and Tushaan,
I just had this strong feeling that they would be perfect for each other, a complete power couple! Today, I'm so happy seeing these two beautiful souls being happily married. There's no better feeling than this! I wish them forever greatness in their journey together."
Tushaan shared everyone needs a friend like Elli.
Actress Ileana D'Cruz is already in the mood for her weekend unwind, going by her new Instagram post on Friday.
In an image she posted from a photoshoot, the actress is seen stretching her back as if gearing up to unwind. She is dressed in a stunning ivory cut-out blouse paired with a shirt.
"Stretching into the end of the week," she wrote as caption.
Ileana's latest release was the digital film "The Big Bull" starring Abhishek Bachchan. The film was loosely based on the securities scam of 1992.
She will next be seen in "Unfair N Lovely", a comic take on India's obsession with fair skin. The film is set against the backdrop of Haryana and features Ileana opposite Randeep Hooda.
Taapsee Pannu has revealed that she was not the first choice of the upcoming mystery thriller "Haseen Dillruba". The actress claims the film came to her after all options were exhausted.
"'Haseen Dillruba' was a film I had a very gut feeling about the day I heard the basic idea from (writer) Kanika (Dhillon). Unfortunately, I wasn't the first choice for the film and it came to me after all their options were exhausted," Taapsee said.
She calls the film a candy in an actor's hand. "The good old saying that, if it's meant for you it will come to you stands true for this case. It's not just a beautifully written mystery, it has such wonderful characters, which is candy in an actor's hands," Taapsee said.
She added: "I am glad I got to experiment with my look and performance with this one because I am definitely not the go-to person for this kind of character conventionally, and we all love to take risks."
Haseen Dilruba", directed by "Hasee Toh Phasee", helmer Vinil Mathew, will be released on Netflix.
The film, which also stars Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane, is about a woman whose heart longs to live like the words captured in a novel, but who finds herself entangled in the murder of her husband.
Vikrant calls the film a perfect blend of humour, quirk, revenge and romance. "I hope it surprises the audience as much as it surprised me when I heard it first. It was an enthralling experience shooting for," he said.
Harshvardhan feels honoured to be in the same frame with some of our "country's finest talent".
"Taapsee and Vikrant, have one thing in common I could never make out if they were joking or if they were serious. I always had to look for tiny nuances to understand the pretext," he added.
